Position Summary:

 System Engineer II

Assist in introducing new products by configuring, testing and troubleshooting potential new products before they are released, and installing operating systems and conducting stability and performance tests. Ability to write and execute Test plans, documentation for production and support.

System Engineer III

Technical Lead in introducing new products by configuring, testing and troubleshooting potential new products before they are released.  Provide documentation and procedures for Production Department personnel.  Conduct most advanced R&D project work.

Experience: (Type of work experience, minimum number of years of each).

Systems Engineer II:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or, equivalent work experience
  • 7-10 years experience as a systems engineer, test engineer, product engineer, or equivalent work experience

System Engineer III:

  • Bachelor of Science in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field
  • 10+years experience as a systems engineer, test engineer, product engineer, or equivalent work experience

Technical Knowledge:

System Engineer II:

  • Linux experience required
  • MCSE certification desired.
  • Red Hat Linux certification desired
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project 

Systems Engineer III:

  • MCSE certification desired.
  • Red Hat Linux certification desired
  •  Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, etc.) 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

Systems Engineer II:

Essential Functions include the following:  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Work as a key contributing member of the NPI (New Product Introduction) process
  • Work with the Technical Product Management staff to introduce new components
  • Configure, test, and troubleshoot Release Candidates
  • Maintain production release versions of product drivers and BIOS
  • Troubleshoot product issues during their entire lifespan
  • Generate test procedures for Production
  • Create Product Advisories and/or Addendums for Production that detail product limitations, and/ or workarounds
  • Develop, Maintain and Upgrade OS Image Deployment Applications and Systems
  • Provide Technical Pre-Sales Support to Sales and Marketing Departments
  • Create Detailed Analysis and reports of benchmarks and performance of Systems for Technical Pre-Sales support and Marketing Department
  • Provide Escalation Support for Support Department
  • Conduct On-site Product Installation and Upgrade Services
  • Conduct advanced R&D projects as assigned

Systems Engineer III:

Essential Functions include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manage Support and Production Technical Product Issue Escalations
  • Conduct Failure analysis tests to determine root cause of product failures
  • Work with component and technology vendors to report issues and gain resolution
  • Manage Technical Engineering Change Requests
  • Provide Technical Pre-Sales Support to Sales and Marketing Departments
  • Oversee the Creation of product test plans for the NPI process
  • Conduct On-site Product Installation and Upgrade Services
  • Work with the Product Management team to introduce new components
  • Generate test procedures for Production
  • Create Product Advisories and/or Addendums for Production that detail product limitations, and/ or workarounds
  • Create Test Plans
  • Execute Test Pans
  • Create product documentation 
  • Conduct advanced R&D projects as assigned.
