FLEXX S1G Keeps Pace with Your Applications… and Your Organization
The world changes, time doesn’t stand still, progress marches on, etc., etc. You know all the old clichés, but regarding them as such doesn’t negate their truth—especially when the topic is computer technology. For BOXX, our world is building hardware that optimizes your professional creative software applications. It sounds simple enough, but it’s actually a distillation of exceedingly complex ideas. Because of advancements in technology and changes in how we work, there are a lot of peripherals surrounding the basic concept of hardware running software.
For enterprise organizations, there’s remote access, streamlining your creative teams, accelerating their workflows, enabling better team collaboration, and more. For those customers, BOXX created FLEXX data center platforms. FLEXX offers all the power and performance of multiple desk side workstations in a rack-mounted, high-density form factor. Each FLEXX node inside the platform is purpose-built to deliver state-of-the-art performance, reliability, and flexibility for content creation, rendering, and simulation.
This leads us to the newly upgraded FLEXX S1G node. Don’t let the term “node” throw you. S1G is actually our flagship APEXX S3 desk side workstation condensed into a high density form factor… or node. Like the S3 version, S1G is purpose- built for creating with 3ds Max, Maya, Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and SOLIDWORKS, as well as GPU rendering.
So what’s new about it? In short, CPU and GPU. Let’s start with the CPU. S1G features the new 13th Gen Intel® Core™ i7/i9 (up to 24 cores) running up to 5.8GHz. These processors, featuring performance hybrid architecture, are designed to improve hardware and software efficiency with multiple cores and features like Intel Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0, 20 total CPU PCIe lanes, and up to 36MB Intel Smart Cache. What it all means is dramatically accelerated software application performance, especially for the lightly threaded applications listed above which thrive on fast CPU clock speed.
Regarding graphics, S1G is available with a new NVIDIA® RTX™ 6000 Ada Generation GPU. This card delivers state-of-the-art, interactive rendering (and visualization) performance with incredibly fast onboard graphics memory technology and optimized software drivers. In addition, NVIDIA’s Shader Execution Reordering (SER) system enables on-the-fly organization and the reordering of workloads by grouping similar performing threads for the SM and RT Core to operate more efficiently. The result is vastly improved graphics and visualization, as well as real-time photorealistic rendering.
Add in 128GB of memory and advanced liquid cooling, and you have one powerful workstation node. Just remember, S1G is part of the FLEXX data center platform that fits easily within your existing IT infrastructure and can simultaneously support multiple types of FLEXX compute nodes (S1G is only one option). With FLEXX, you can provision virtual workstations in minutes, accelerate workflows onsite or remotely, and access data, creative content, team projects, and more. Accessible from any connected device, FLEXX workstation nodes provide the same level of performance you get from BOXX desk side workstations.
