Position Summary:

Oversee all financial operations and accounting activities related to financial reporting, management reporting, debt provider reporting, auditing, accounts payable processing, accounts receivable collection, tax compliance, and payroll. This is a hybrid role with 3-4 days per week in the office desired.

 

Experience: (Type of work experience, minimum number of years of each).

  • Four-year degree of BBA or BS with a concentration in Accounting preferably with an MBA.
  • 10+, years of public and private accounting experience.
  • 7+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Cash management, AR and AP.

Special Technical Knowledge:

  • Ability to learn and effectively use different software programs and ERP systems, preferably Intuitive, and Microsoft Office programs
  • Strong working knowledge of a closed-loop ERP system

Special Administrative Knowledge:

  • Tax compliance, Sarbanes-Oxley, record retention requirements
  • Ability to work effectively with senior management as well as all company staff
  • Bank borrowing base, covenant, and compliance packages 
  • Inventory management including cycle counting
  • Working in conjunction with third-party CPAs on various state tax filings 

Mathematical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of mathematics necessary to generate accurate financial report and assess financial performance.
  • Ability to create financial dashboards

 Language Skills:

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and accounting/financial reports.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, vendors, business partners, board members, employees and investors.

 Reasoning Abilities:

  •  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Unique Duties/Responsibilities: Essential Functions include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Overall responsibility for ensuring accuracy of BOXX financial statements and that such statements are in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Responsible for setting up accounts, financial strategy, forecasting and budgeting including timely and accurate budget analysis and review with management
  • Provides strategic financial leadership including support for the evaluation of potential alliances, acquisitions, mergers, investments and/or other issues affecting the business.
  • Builds, develops and manages finance and team capable of carrying out needed initiatives.
  • Works to forecast and manage cash and initiates needed strategies for improvement.
  • Ensures that the company is always in compliance with banking & loan agreement requirements
  • Establish a high level of credibility and manage strong working relationships with all external parties including vendors and customers
  • Prepares reports for the bank, vendors and the Board of Directors upon request.
  • Manage employees in Accounting to include conducting departmental meetings, setting priorities, completing performance appraisals, and reviewing goals
  • Member of the senior executive staff responsible for establishing both short and long term financial objectives for the company
